Interschutz Community Days 2021

This year the Interschutz in Hanover had to be canceled due to the pandemic situation. As a result, the largest trade show in the emergency services sector will return to its usual schedule next year. The alternatively held Interschutz Community Days nevertheless provided an appropriate setting in the context of the FireFit European Championships.

Firefighters from all over Europe compete against each other in various disciplines. Limited to 2000 visitors per day and with a comprehensive hygiene concept, it was also possible for some exhibitors to present their products. We were there with a joint booth with Copting GmbH.

On site, we gave the visitors an understanding of the possible applications of drones, were able to exchange information with drone pilots from drone groups of fire departments and were able to highlight the advantages of tethered drones in use. Fire departments in particular can benefit from the 24/7 operation of unmanned aerial vehicles. Especially against the background of the very warm days during the exhibition, one could read in the news about the first open area fires. For example, in Wöbbelin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where forest areas contaminated with ammunition were on fire. By means of wired drones, the spread of the fire could be kept in view throughout, without having to get close to the fires or use an airplane or helicopter for reconnaissance.

We congratulate the participants of the FireFit European Championships as a whole for the performances shown. To be able to perform at such high temperatures and to master the tasks is outstanding, even without a place on the winners' podium.
